Svjetlana received her PhD from Linköping University at the end of 2007, which focused on the design, set-up and completion of complex thermo-mechanical fatigue tests and damage mechanism characterisation of various coated and uncoated nickel-base superalloys for turbine blades used in land-based gas turbines. Afterwards, she moved to the UK to work at Rolls-Royce plc in Derby for five years. At Rolls-Royce, Svjetlana was working with research, development and characterisation of existing and future turbine disc alloys for different aero engines across various internally and externally funded projects.
